Gawain - Year 5

Year 5 and 6’s Autumn Term context is “Where is the Love?” As part of this context, pupils will be focusing on World War 2 and what it was like to live during that time. Pupils will also look at diversity and the important contributions and sacrifices that were made from other countries through the British Empire. They will then move on to look at what it means to be Citizens of Change and focus on what they can do to make a positive difference in their community and the world. Year 6 will also be focusing on the Big Question - Can there be peace on Earth?

In Maths, Year 6 will focus on place value including decimal numbers, multiplication and division, addition and subtraction including practical, written and mental strategies.

Year 5 and 6 will be reading the book “The boy at the back of the class” by Onjali Q. Raúf.
